B.Arts(Hons)/B.Languages (ANU)

I am a PhD student in the School of Culture, History & Language at the Australian National University. I am currently working on a grammar of Simalur, a Barrier Islands (Austronesian) language spoken on Simeulue Island in Aceh Province, Indonesia. I completed my Bachelor of Arts (Honours) at ANU in 2022. My research was on nominal number and gender in Kufo, a Kadu language traditionally spoken in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan.

Research Interest

I am broadly interested in morphology and morphological complexity, particularly to do with systems of nominal classification. I am also interested in typological studies of language. My focus is on developing quantitative methods to accurately measure variation across languages. I also do traditional descriptive linguistics working on under-resourced languages of Indonesia and Sudan.
