Justin Lau
Justin is a social anthropologist interested in the culture of disposal and the history of sanitary science. His main areas of research interest include discard studies, feminist science and technology studies (STS), and anthropological debates about development and environmental ethics. He holds a BA in Social Anthropology from the University of Sussex and an M.Sc. in Anthropology and Development from the London School of Economics. His doctoral research works at the intersection of anthropology, public health, and international development. Specifically, it explores how the circular economy is materialised by various grassroots waste management social enterprises in Phnom Penh, Cambodia
